CAPTAIN:                      YANNIS (JOHN) ATHANASIOU – BORN: 1961 in Macedonia. On Board since 1991.

 

                                    Graduated with a “Third Officer Diploma” to the Merchant Marine Academy of Piraeus. He holds a “Diploma of Sailing” in open sea and a “Certificate of Racing Sailing”. He takes his career very seriously and he attended to various seminars and taken courses. The most important are the following: possession of Salvage at Sea, Fire fighting Certification, First Aid Certification and Certificate in Operating Navigational Electronics (Radar, depth, sounder, compass, and radio communication).

                                    Since 1983, he has been the captain of various yachts and periodically the second officer on tankers. He also acted as a manager of construction of sailing yachts for Epidaurus Company.

                                    His hobbies are sailing, especially racing sailing, swimming, water skiing, scuba diving and surfing. He speaks Greek and English.

 

ENGINEER:                    COSTAS (CONSTANTINE) ASMANIS – BORN: 1942 in Lesbo. On Board since 1971.

 

                                    He is working continuously  for the Motor Sailer “APHRODITE” for 24 years, before that date he used to work in cargo vessels. He has a great experience in electricity and engineering works. Possession of Salvage at Sea, Fire fighting Certification & First Aide Certification. He speaks Greek and English and his hobby is fishing.

 

DECKHAND:                   VASSILIS (BASIL) TSATSADONIS – BORN: 1960 in Crete. On board since 1993.

 

He has excellent experience on wooden motor sailers. Possession of Salvage at Sea, Fire fighting Certification & Fire Aide Certification. His hobby is fishing and he is very able in catching octopus and teaching water skiing. He speaks Greek and English.

 

 

 

COOK:                          GEORGE SOFIANOS – BORN: 1955 in Cairo. On board since 1995.

 

                                    Very good experience. Worked in various luxury yachts and hotels. He specializes in Greek cuisine.
